Not so far from Chiang Mai city. There has a large land of Longan Garden an area of land about 7,500 m² with rivers and weir flanking the land on both sides, north, and west. Some land has been allocated for housing. By choosing a location that is adjacent to the river on both sides. Making it possible to hear the sound of running water to get close to nature all the time.

The location is in the midst of nature which makes it conducive to designing the house to be open according to the concept of “Inside out – Outside in” which provides privacy but still gets close to nature. Using large voids by sliding doors, and casement windows along the north and east brings nature into the building in a tropical style. The west and south have fewer openings to protect heat from outside the building.

The building is placed on the east-west for good ventilation. The direction is parallel to the weir so the wind can blow through the house. Help to reduce humidity and provide coolness. The veranda is placed on the north which is sunny in the morning and then shady all day. Have a hip roof with eaves extending up to 1.50 meters covering indoor and outdoor areas, protecting from rain and sunlight so able to do activities in this area throughout the day.

The house is divided into 2 buildings. The main building consists of bedrooms, a living room, a working room, and bathrooms. A small building consists of a kitchen, dining room, and washing room separated from the main building. That responds to the use of owners who have frequently guests to socialize with. The separation of the building makes the residents in the main building privacy. And have separate entrances that make it convenient to use.

In the middle of the house has a double space living room hall with a large window from floor to ceiling that opens a view outside and brings light and wind into the building. Decorate the large wall with gradient cream-colored terracotta tiles. The sunken seat is arranged in the living room so that make eye view is on the same plane as the external veranda.

The master bedroom has a private balcony and a façade to help separate the interior and exterior of the building. It can be opened when wanting to get an outside view. Walk-in Closet and bathroom are continuation areas from the master bedroom. Open voids from the north and south so lights can be allowed into the room, making it full of natural light. Every bedroom and working room has a private exterior view and has shade all day long because it is located on the north side.

All Built-in furniture is specially made to order. Designed to be smooth doors, hide the details of the handle. The counter kitchen was sprayed with green color according to the owner’s preference. The stairs, the railing, and the storage room under the stairs were designed in one piece by hiding the door of the storage room. A walk-in closet separates the male and female wardrobes. In the middle of this room is a sink installed with a floating mirror, not wall-mounted. Most of the built-in works use light ash-colored plywood to match the natural tone of the house.
